Mabel goes to hollywood
7th December 2009

Back at the stall this week, it rained and then some. This is incredibly boring for flowers even if they’re trying to tempt you with craning necks from sweet jars. Still, we staged a wreath off with the other Kings Road Florists and, squeak, hope to atleast get an honorable mention with my giant pussy willow and peacock creation.
Not letting la pluie stop play, things to do in SW3 with a pair of scissors also included twirling in petticoats, posing with mabel for japanese toursists (this really could get boring), getting tongue tied when Holly Johnson bought some pompom posies…breathing bouquets, sighing over suculents, drinking lots of earl grey….and repeat to fade, relaxing amongst my roses.
This week I’m asking captain to come up with a jazzy theme tune to reel in those punters.

A great first week at Bluebird, meeting the local madcaps, gorgeous people and reminding myself just how hard work a flower stall is – even if it is in the heart of the most beautiful shop in London…but we made it, amazing.

I restricted myself to flowers I adore just in case some of them ended up on the boat – so not a lizzy in sight but plenty of gorgeous roses, nerines and such. Some sold, some surprised me as they sashayed away and some wilted at the sheer froideur.

Mabel survived with a mercy dash to George her mender on monday, I flirted with designer treats my flower shop curves will simply not allow, and all was good for another week. Day five starts tomorrow….I shall, if my band aid fingertips, and my ruby red face survive – post an update.
Love to all

3rd December 2009

It started with a kiss, then rained all day but here’s a general feel of how life as Gypsy Rose at Bluebird started on a cold but jolly winters day in Chelsea.

There were a lot of blurry but beautiful roses, many a wreath, Christmas carols and Captain in his new wellies fondly referring to me as his assistant…a lot of fun.

I will post more about the adventures, Mabel nearly conking out on me, moving bedsteads and rolling sweetjars soon – but am surrounded piles of wreaths to make for Mr Designer, the restauranteur and a fashion pal.
P.S I know I know ….I’ve asked for a super canon clicky camera for Christmas.
