I know this ad’s having an Amelie moment and I adore a twee love story but yerp there are better movies than Godfather three, it’s not considered the best one.
This weekend we’ve been invited to a singalong version of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, now this IS a great old movie. Brilliant idea from our pals over at Bistroteque and campest film moment ever?

Paper, scissors, stone
31st March 2010

On the way to a cafe I’m styling in Fitzrovia is a really sweet tailors with giant over-sized paper gardenias in their windows. My cab always get stuck right outside and I get proper jelly bugs. I’ve never tried to make them but if I did would hope the end result would be like this.
The lovely Chelsea over at Frolic has just done a post about the brilliant Eloise Corr Danch who’s potty about paper, the results are beautiful.

Museum of flowers
30th March 2010

Planning a trip with Mabel this week to the Geffrye Museum to explore their flower exhibition, from tussy mussies to mixing china flowers with real, it’s a question us flower girls, with sweaty brows and ripped fingers always ask. Jeez louise why do we do it? Going to have a nosey and report back.

An I don’t have to run day
29th March 2010

Today has kind of gone like this, boat stuff, stripe shopping, heavy petting at the Cloth Shop, flowers for a friend, dinner with a favourite person and hard worked brogue envy.
Lovely Alice I do love your shoes.

Bump captain and I went walk about this weekend on Westbourne Grove in search of a new shop on Ledbury. Appropro as I’m in animal baby name mode, both contenders with Fox and Bear creeping in too (don’t you just hate stupid baby names?). Anyroad, I really digged this dress and like Bluebird they support lots of new designers, stock quirky flower vases and socks for nearly every day of the week. Liked alot.
Flower wise it’s been tulip fever on the boat this week, blossom for a monday Fitzrovia affair and curtains of cutlery. More soon.

After a week of VV Rouleauxing, researching tassles and trimmings and putting Arnold up for Vogue shoots I’m having a Sophie Tucker kind of day – god wouldn’t it be great to be a grand old dame?

Arthur or Martha?
23rd March 2010

Quick bump update as lots of you have emailed to ask. We had our five month scan last week, much excitement but legs crossed the jury is still out on whether it’s a girl or boy…Leaf and Petunia and a whole other list of stupid names – you will just have to wait.

Mantles and Mason jars
22nd March 2010

So this weekend we ended up in gorgeous Greenwich for a Temperleyesque wedding, drooping chandeliers, more sweeping staircases and Mason jars galore.
Here are some of the results, it was a pretty simple affair of blossom, amnesia roses, lilacs, hyacinths ranuncs and potted fun set on a lovely backdrop and to the tune of bump kicking me as the deejay practiced his tunes.

Steep stairs & vintage affairs
21st March 2010

Another Gypsy Rose weekend. After a mad saturday of prepping roses in the rain we made it with our blossom wares to Greenwich, adorned austere stairwells and laughed at satnavs that dared to take us florists out of W11. And I became an Auntie to another very special Oliver.
Pics, baby interuptions and what happened to that pepper flower to follow. xxx
Fondant Pansies
20th March 2010

It’s been the case of the non opening blossom this weekend but pheweee, it’s that time of the day, flower prep over, a curlup in front of the woodburner and the torgraph salivating over Fiona Cairns and her pretty feasts.
I’ve been munching on fondant fancies today but I love this look, am not a patch on Fee but have been known to chuck the odd pansy in a salad, taste wise they suck sadly but ‘ll keep trying!
Anyway aren’t these heaven….
